We aim to provide 500 free bird nesting boxes to community groups so they can encourage wild birds back to open spaces and woodlands.

As an environmentalist, I wanted to provide a practical and simple way in which concerned citizens could help reverse this decline.  So, I’ve been working with a local charity to encourage the public to help support wildlife in novel and sustainable ways. 

This project started as a way of helping community groups provide additional nesting sites to support bird populations.  Environmental pressures and the loss of suitable habitat through removing trees and hedges are greatly impacting bird numbers here in London, across the UK.  Here, anyone can sponsor bird nesting boxes, and they will be given free to environmental groups.  Each box is made to order and the sponsor's name is embossed onto the front. We carry no stock, there is no production waste, the materials used are free of toxic chemicals and preservatives, they are waterproof, can be recycled, and reduce the risk of spreading disease between birds. The location of each box is recorded, and volunteers will be checking on them regularly throughout the year. Any profits will go to environmental charities. 

We've tested the idea by offering 50 bird boxes for sponsorship locally, and all of them are now providing nesting sites across our community. 

We have set new a target of supplying 500 nesting boxes over the next few months. And, we are working on other products for sponsorship too!
