Aim

Shadow Magazine would like to raise £1000 to fund their first print issue, fair wages for contributors, and a cushion to continue to thrive.

Hey!

So, I'm Eva, the founder & editor of Shadow Magazine - initially a passion project brought to life in cafés and the pits of my student flat, it's now become a digital zine where we platform talented writers who talk all things CULTURE.

Growing up as a masked neurodivergent, I found solace in literature (especially magazines) and music. I was desperate to get my hands on anything ziney - I'm talking Hello!, OK!, anything with Katie Price on the cover and ending with a !. Luckily, I moved on to zines like Kerrang! (the ! trend persists), and The Face, iD, the Believer.

The South of England is thriving with publications. At the same time, the North is less so, with many indie zines dying out and leaving behind great legacies but also audiences that become more and more disenfranchised with the instability of it all.

I want this first print issue to bring attention to us, creatives in the North, advertise local businesses and creatives, and pay contributors a fair wage for their pieces.

You can choose a reward or donate what you can - and share with friends!

You rock x
