My friend and I pushing our minds and bodies to the limit to raise money for two indispensable charities that are vital to the area in which we both live (Cumbria), by completing a very challenging event of doing 48 Lake District peaks within 48 hours. The circular route covers the northern, eastern, southern and western mountains covering 90km with a total elevation of nearly 6300 meters. This is no easy stroll and will involve technical experience in all areas of hiking, we are experienced and have been training for this for some time.
The first charity being The Great North Air Ambulance who provide a pioneering care at the scene rescuing severely injured or ill patients, they are able to reach to places other service's cant and save 100's of lives. The work they do is so important and they are not NHS or government funded.
The second charity is the Mountain Rescue, without the charities tireless efforts, dedication and passion from their fantastic volunteers helping those in need in so many different ways.
