Help Us Support Our Young People! Providing Free Water Sports Activities For Our Communities and a Free Youth Club!
The Water Adventure Centre (WAC) based in Droylsden has been inspiring young people since 1977 through free, safe, and inclusive water-based activities. Our qualified canoe and kayak coaches are also experienced youth and play workers. WAC provides opportunities for children and teens many are from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Helping them to build confidence, skills, and friendships. We welcome diverse groups including young people with disabilities, LGBT+ youth, women’s groups, asylum seekers, refugees, and young parents.
However, rising costs threaten our ability to keep sessions free and accessible. Every donation directly supports essential running costs, ensuring WAC remains a safe and welcoming space. Your support helps us continue connecting young people to their community and creating lasting memories.
Donate today and help us stay afloat!
Angela Rayner, MP for Ashton-under-Lyne, Audenshaw, Droylsden and Dukinfield, said: “The Water Adventure Centre really is one of the jewels in the crown of my constituency and I know that thousands of children and young people have benefitted from their events and activities over the years. The wonderful staff and volunteers offer real opportunities to all, especially those who may be disadvantaged, those not in education, employment or training, looked-after children and those with behavioural or educational challenges. I have seen firsthand how the canoeing and kayaking sessions boosts the confidence and self esteem of those taking part in an environment they are comfortable in. The team also run activities in other areas and make them as affordable as possible to maximise the chance for everyone to get involved. WAC has helped so many children and young people over the years and they now need our support more than ever.”
