Raising funds as our over‑40s team completes the Lyke Wake Walk, supporting Linthorpe Academicals FC and the vital work of Headlight Project

Support our Over‑40s team on 4 July 2026 as we take on the Lyke Wake Walk!

We are the Linthorpe Academicals Over‑40s team, and this year we’re stepping far outside our comfort zone. Together, we’ll be tackling the Lyke Wake Walk — a gruelling 42‑mile crossing of the North York Moors- all in one go. For a group of lads who normally measure distance in halves of football, this is a serious challenge.

But we’re doing it for two causes that mean a great deal to us.

Where Your Support Goes

Every pound raised will be split equally between:

• Linthorpe Academicals FC – helping us continue to provide footballing opportunities, equipment and support for players of all ages within our community.
• The Headlight Project – a local charity doing vital work to support families affected by suicide and to promote mental health awareness across Teesside.
• Why It Matters
  Grassroots football brings people together, keeps us active and builds friendships that last decades. The Headlight Project brings hope, support and life‑changing guidance to those who need it most. By backing our challenge, you’re strengthening both.
