We're still collecting donations
On the 1st May 2020 we'd raised £360 with 11 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

More printers speed up the production. 8 frames can be made in 12 hours on one machine. That's not quick! I have one machine, adding one or two more significantly increases impact.
There is a growing number of 3D printer-makers in the UK who are offering what support they can to help our NHS staff stay safe and continue their fight against corona virus.
In the UK, we apparently haven't even experienced the worst of this yet and many friends of mine who work in hospitals locally are extremely worried. We know there is a shortage of ventilators (but apparently 3D printing isn't the answer here) but we can help with visors which have been proven to help protect the spread of germs - there is a massive shortage of these currently due to incredibly high demand
To make these, I build a 3D printed frame, attach a clear plastic cover (visor) and secure the back with elastic. I'm currently funding this myself but could really do with help.
£16.50 buys 1KG of 1.75mm PETG plastic filament for 3D printing
I also need 20mm elastic tape from a haberdashery
0.25 of 220 micron roughly clear plastic eg Acetate, Polycarbonate, PVC.
One printer can produce 8 frames in 12 hours. This is slow! £699 buys a second printer (www.prusaprinters.org) which doubles output - and so on.
I am very happy to receive materials or donations - I am not here to make profit, just help the local community and our NHS.
If you already 3D print and are UK based I can put you in touch with groups locally who are helping out - from Falmouth (and now Perranporth/Truro/Newquay with me) and via the Falmouth group, the rest of the UK. If you are local to me and want to help eg with assembly, printing or other aspects - please get in touch
Please help where you can!
Thanks! Pete
