Hey Everyone! Myself & Sunday Run Club are running a Half Marathon at the Great Birmingham Run on 1st May. We are raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
This is our first ever 21km run so we’ve been training extra hard to make sure we get to the finish line!
The main reason Myself, Meg, Ross, Reiss, Jack and Hodge have chosen Macmillan was for our close friends, family and my partner, who unfortunately their loved ones aren’t here anymore.
Hodge’s Mum is currently battling a rare form of cancer, after being diagnosed in December 2018. After 2 years of Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy she was given the all clear in January 2020, but then was sadly re diagnosed in March 2021.
Jack’s Dad was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in 27th October 2014 the day before his 65th birthday. He then battled for 18months before unfortunately he passed away 29th March 2016 McMillan provided Jack’s dad with hospitality and constant care throughout his time.
Seeing our friends and family go through this has made us even more determined to not only raise as much as we can for this wonderful charity but also push ourselves outside our comfort zones! Taking everything in our stride ( if you pardon the pun.)
Thank you in advance for your contribution for this brilliant cause. We really appreciate it☺️
