Who are we?
Chiddingstone Primary School is at the heart of the village community. The facilities in the school are used by the church, the local community, the village hall and pupils. We are here to bring the community together, to fundraise to modernise the astro-area, to the benefit of all those that use the facilities.
Why are we crowdfunding?
The astro-area is used by a wide range of groups, not just the school. It is old and becoming unsafe. Through a series of steps we aim to modernise the whole astro-area, to ensure our children and our community can safely use this multi-purpose area.
How we’ll spend the money raised
The money raised will be put towards updating the astro-area and providing sports equipment. This requires a phased approach as we raise enough funds and complete the work safely, avoiding disruption to school and community use.
Community impact
We are a small and community minded village. The school, the church and the village hall are at the heart of the community (along with the Tea Rooms and pub!), and use each-other's facilities to serve the community. The astro-area may be located inside the school gates, but it serves whole the community, through Forest Church, events in the village hall, and community fates.
How you can play your part
Our first fundraiser is "Break the Rules" Day.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
