Aim

The aim of this project it to help raise funds for the upcoming coming adventurous activities we are hoping to take the young people on.

💚 Help Keep Our Scout Group Going – Every Child Deserves an Adventure! ⚜️

At 25th Halifax (Siddal St Mark’s) Scout Group, we’re not asking for the world. We’re simply asking for a little help to give our young people the opportunities they deserve.

Our Scout Group has faced some difficult challenges. When St Mark’s Church was condemned, we suddenly found ourselves without a home. A place that had been part of our Scouting community was no longer available, and we were left wondering where we would meet and how we could keep going.

Thankfully, through the kindness and generosity of another local church, we’ve been able to continue providing a regular meeting place for our young people. Without that support, things could have been very different.

But keeping our Scout Group running isn’t easy.

The cost of camps, trips, transport, equipment and activities continues to rise. For many of the families in our community, particularly those living in areas of deprivation, these costs can be a real barrier.

We never want a child’s financial circumstances to be the reason they miss out.

Our volunteers give up countless hours of their own time, organising activities, planning adventures, fundraising and supporting our young people. They do it because they genuinely care and believe in what Scouting can offer.

Scouting gives children so much more than a night away in a tent. It builds confidence, teaches independence, encourages friendships and gives young people a safe place where they belong.

For some of our young people, the adventures we provide may be opportunities they would never otherwise experience.

And that’s why we’re fundraising.

Not for luxuries. Not for anything extravagant. But to help cover the rising costs of activities, camps, transport and equipment, and to make sure every child has the same chance to take part.

We have already fought to keep our Scout Group going after losing our home, and our volunteers continue to work tirelessly to make Scouting possible.

Now we’re asking our community to help us keep making a difference.
