On May 7th, voters in Birmingham will go to the polls. And for the Green Party, this election could be a turning point.
Across Birmingham, we're seeing a surge in membership, rising support in the polls, and growing appetite across the city for real change. We’ve already shown we can win — now we want to win bigger.
Our ambition is clear:
More councillors in 2026 — and a Green MP for Birmingham next general election.
But ambition needs resources.
Every area we campaign in matters.
Every seat we win is one less for Reform.
Our Green Party Councillors have done a fantastic job. But we need to be able to do much more to stand up for real change in our city. To do that we need more, many more, elected Greens.
With Labour failing, we need to make sure we are the alternative to Labour, not Reform. Every seat we win in Birmingham is one less for Reform. But… We don't have their big corporate donors. We rely on the donations of our members and supporters for every campaign. Can you help us turn this surge into seats?
With enough resources, we can stop Reform and build a council that puts people, climate, and justice first.
We can turn our surge in support into more seats, but we need your help to do this.
We don’t have corporate backers or wealthy donors. We rely entirely on people power to fund leaflets, distribute campaign materials, and for volunteers knocking on doors. A tried and tested formula that we know wins elections.
To fully fund our existing campaigns, we need £10,000.
That gets us to the starting line.
But we don’t want to stop there.
For every additional £1,500 raised, we can campaign in another Birmingham community — reaching more voters, winning more seats, and strengthening our influence in the council.
Small contributions, multiplied, win elections.
Every donation — big or small — moves us closer to that future.
Can you help turn momentum into seats?
Can you help us win big in Birmingham?

Q: I already pay my membership fee. Aren’t membership fees enough to support the campaigns – doesn’t that support the party?
A: What we get locally from membership fees isn’t enough for the ambitious campaigns we need to run.
Q: What will the money be used for?
A: Money will be used for leaflets, campaign materials, events, support for our candidates and volunteer coordination to run ambitious campaigns.
Q: Why do you do so many leaflets?
A: We won our first two Councillors through consistent leafleting and door-knocking, it’s part of a tried and tested strategy for winning local elections that works. Across the West Midlands, we’ve gone from 3 councillors to over 100 since we started doing this. Nationally, we’ve gained around 700 councillors in the last 10 years.
Q: What have existing councillors achieved?
A: Climate emergency declared, challenged cuts to libraries and other vital public services, fought poor housing, stood up for residents on regeneration, challenged the council’s continual reliance on a polluting incinerator.
