2026 Growth Plan

Aim

We want to expand our footprint in Ramsbottom, but we also need some essential equipment to enable us to continue to maintain the green

Who are we?

We are a Group of Crown Green bowlers, consisting of 7 teams operating out of Buchanan Sports & Social club in Ramsbottom.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We want to expand our numbers and have a drive in 2026 to do so, more importantly we need to replace some old equipment that is essential  to the maintenance of the green. 

We also want to run some Open Days and push our profile and hopefully find some additional players to come and join the great community we have at Buchanan

How we’ll spend the money raised

We need a new mower as the old one is 25+ years old now and is getting beyond repair. New ones are in the region of £5000, but we should be able to secure a reconditioned one for c£2000. We also need ancillary equipment (feed, seed, strimmer's, spikes etc) to assist in the maintenance of the bowling green

Community impact

We already have 60+ members ranging in standard from the competitively good to the socially focussed, who meet on a weekly basis to play in one of 3 leagues we are enrolled in: 

• The Vets play 2 afternoons a week, in and around Ramsbottom & Bury
• Bury League play Monday evenings in and around Ramsbottom & Bury
• Ramsbottom League play Tuesday/Wednesday evenings in and around Ramsbottom, Bury & Rawtenstall

We also get together at the end of the season & run an in-club team competition to encourage the bonding of the members as a club, not just a collection of teams

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
