The toilet facilities at our Scout Hall are badly outdated, no longer conform to modern accessibility standards for disabled users.
1st Coddington Scout Group was founded in 1938 and moved to our current Scout Hall (the old Village School building) in 1969. The building was purchased by the Scout Group in 1992 and is officially owned by the Youth of Coddington under the governance of trustees.
Servicing the village of Coddington for over 80 years the Scout Group caters for over 70 children from the village and surrounding areas from the ages of 6-14 years old. Our Hall is also available for meetings, birthday parties and the like and is regularly hired by a Dance Group and Dog Training Class.
Unfortunately our toilets are fast becoming no longer fit for purpose and in particular pose us a real challenge around accessibility for disabled people to be able to comfortably use the hall.
Our vision to be able to provide unisex and disabled friendly facilities to a modern standard but also built to last for many years to come.
It is with this as the driving factor but also with the potential for increased revenue if our toilet facilities were of a higher standard (making us more appealing to hire our hall), that we are hoping to fund raise for improvements to be made as soon as possible.
