Aim

To create a not-for-profit coffee shop run by volunteers, to raise funds towards local events, food banks and grass roots football

Keyham Neighbourhood Watch, create a community park area.

For 5 years Keyham Neighbourhood Watch has been working on supporting the community through Covid, crime and a cost of living crisis.

We have always worked as volunteers throughout this and this work was recognised by the Queen when we were given our QAVS award, equivalent to an MBE for our community work.

While we are proud of our achievements, we want to do better and create a legacy of funding to our food banks and support young children in the area.

We wish to create a not for profit coffee shop in our most popular North Down Park, we have already secured the lease of an unused building and started renovations. However, due to being let down by a major business in the area with promised funding,  we now find ourselves unable to complete the renovation.

This knock-on effect means that we are unable to support the food banks and people of Keyham in the way we hoped. This resulting in the food banks having ran out of food and funding multiple times already.

We want to raise £50,000. This will create a coffee shop and renovate the building to a standard fit to be used for multiple community purposes. We will look to do LGBT+ , BAME and cultural events along with support drop -ins for those struggling with issues, along with creating a big annual family focused community day back to Keyham.

Keyham has one of the lowest incomes to homes in the city, furthermore Keyham is part of Devonport Ward a Ward that has come second twice in the Census as one of the most deprived areas of Plymouth.

As a community we are strong, resilient and community focused, however we just don't have enough opportunities to come together, nor get enough support to do so.
With this proposed coffee shop, in our building known as our "Shed"we will look to support, encourage and regenerate the area and build an even stronger community than once was.

As our motto goes, "We want to make Keyham as good as the people in it". With your help, we can do just that.

Thank you
