January 2025 - the project is awarded grant funding!

I'm very pleased to report that a grant application made towards the end of last year, has resulted in an award of £15,000 to the restoration project! The money has been offered to us by the Garfield Weston Foundation, a charitable trust that was established in 1958 by the Canadian businessman, Willard Garfield Weston. One of his businesses established here in the UK, Associated British Foods, still provides most of the charity's income, which goes to support a very diverse range of causes. We are very grateful to the Weston family and foundation trustees for their generosity.

With funds now totalling almost £70,000, we have raised about half of the total estimated budget. This will allow us to proceed apace with the timber bodywork restoration in 2025; watch this space!

A belated Happy New Year to you all,

Owen Phillips
