We're raising vital funds for local Rape Crisis Centres and the helpline to help survivors access the support they need, when they need it.
On a typical day across Scotland this year over one thousand survivors of sexual violence are waiting for specialist support from Rape Crisis Centres.
The wait can be excruciating; the support is described as lifesaving.
“I was a mess felt like I couldn't start healing. No-one to talk to all going on in my head. I was self-harming, suicide attempts. I felt isolated and my head was exploding” - Survivor
The theme for 16 Days of Action – the international campaign to end gender-based violence – this year is Generation Equality Stands Against Rape. These 16 days are an opportunity for everybody, for individuals, organisations, businesses, politicians and all those people who condemn all forms of gender-based violence, to say clearly that enough is enough. We will not stand by and do nothing.
This is a chance for all of us to turn words into action.
That is why we are launching our biggest ever Crowdfunder – 16 pounds for 16 days – asking all those supporters to rise to the challenge and donate or raise £16 to help support the vital work of local rape crisis services across Scotland.
We want you to get involved.
Taking part in #16PoundsFor16Days is easy, and there are lots of ways to be a part of it! Here’s a few ideas:
Any and all money raised is going to be split evenly between the 17 local Rape Crisis Centres in Scotland and the Rape Crisis Scotland Helpline, which means the money you raise will be directly invested into supporting survivors of sexual violence.
This is your chance to make a difference – are you up for it?
