Aim

Join us in preserving history and shaping the future as part of our 125th Anniversary of Club Cricket in Old Glossop

Old Glossop Cricket Club

Based in the High Peak, Derbyshire, Old Glossop has been the home a grass roots cricket club for 125 years within the picture postcard setting of the Peak District as its back drop.  We provide cricket and social opportunities for the local community, supporting 3 Mens teams, 2 Womens, and 4 Junior teams.

As part of our 125th year, we hope to improve our facilities (and the view) by renovating our now out of date and dilapidated score hut and patio area at the top of our ground.  What used to be the changing facilities until the 1990's, the building needs to some TLC, the retaining walls in front rebuilt, and a new seating area laid to the front.  This will not only improve safety, but provide a wonderful viewing area in the most beautiful part of the ground.

Why are we crowdfunding?

As a community sports club, we are volunteer run and all the money we make from our fundraising and activities goes back into the club to support the upkeep of the club.  However, projects such as this require more than we can raise through BBQ's and football cards.

Therefore, we would like to offer the chance to be a part of the legacy by participating in our 'Buy a Brick' initiative. Your name or message will be etched into Old Glossop Cricket Club's future, ensuring that the spirit of cricket thrives for another 125 years.

We're asking for a donation of £125 for a brick which will be laid into the new walls at the rear of the patio area.  Each brick has a maximum of 64 characters and will be visible for the many, many years to come.  Anyone who steps into our clubhouse and reviews photos or old scorebooks will see the legacy of familiar family names from the area, and we want to continue this family & community legacy.
