Aim
Being fully independent without any corporate backers or sponsors, the COVID-19 crisis has had a huge impact on our little festival.
Our little festival has always been fully independent, which gives it creative freedom and makes it completely unique. We want to keep it this way for many years to come.
The COVID-19 crisis has had a particularly big impact on us with there being just one chance per year to generate income, which has been cruelly taken away by this awful pandemic.
Sadly, ticket revenue alone does not go anywhere near to covering the costs of putting on an event so the consequences of the crisis (costs that cannot be recouped) will fall on the shoulders of our organisers and their families - none of whom could be described as being wealthy - and have already given up so much to make the festival happen each year - evening after evening and weekend after weekend of family time has been surrendered and instead dedicated to making 110 the best little festival it possibly can be.
We will be going ahead in 2021 (and can't wait!) but the current situation brings home how overbearingly heavy the risks associated with a festival, especially one that is proudly independent.
Our aim with this fund and other initiatives during the year is to recoup some of the "sunk" costs and generate a "buffer" / "contingency" fund to safeguard the future of the festival and help those involved sleep at night without ALL of the financial worries of organising a festival involves.
We have carefully created a number of incredible rewards in return for your support alongside straight up donations. Many of these are "once in a life time" so hopefully we can fulfil some dreams too!
