Aim

Walk and run for 24 hours completing between 100 km and 100 miles during that time.

At 9.00 on 1st June 2021 I will begin running and walking for 24 hours. During that time I will be aiming to complete between 100 km (62 miles) and 100 miles. I will try to keep going constantly if I can in order that I can reach the target.

The school at which I work has been very supportive and they have allowed me to use their mile run cross country course for this event. Throughout the event I will be helped by my fiancée, who will be trying to stay awake whilst I am running, which in itself will be a huge effort.

This campaign is extremely personal due to family links with both South Africa and Rwanda. Action is required to make sure that countries around the World are not left to suffer with Covid for another 2-3 years. Whilst the UK has vaccinated over 55% of its population and aims to vaccinate all adults by the end July 2021, South Africa has only vaccinated 0.8% and Rwanda hopes to reach 60% of its population by the end of 2022. So far the COVAX scheme has dispatched 49 million vaccine doses worldwide, whilst Britain has administered over 56 million doses. Help is required in order to provide 2 billion vaccine doses by the end of this year for low and middle income countries around the World by the end of this year.

Without a concerted effort, the situation that is playing out in India at present will be seen in low and middle income countries around the World.

We must do something now. If not us, who? If not here, where? If not now, when?
