We are striving to raise £35,000 in vital funds that will carry us through the harsh winter months.
Who are we?
Sutton Night Watch is a registered grassroots charity providing wrap-around care for the most vulnerable members of our local community. Originally founded in 2015 to support individuals facing homelessness, we have grown to extend our helping hands to anyone experiencing housing insecurity, financial hardship, addiction, and/or wider well-being challenges. Through a holistic approach, we aim to provide more than just a moment of relief. We strive to instil maintainable stability and lasting support in the lives of our service users. We are more than just a homeless shelter – we are a community hub: a listening ear, a helping hand, and a supportive shoulder.

Why are we Crowdfunding?
As we proudly approach our 10th anniversary, the celebrations are accompanied by ever-evolving challenges. It is no secret that as a nation, we are facing a cost-of-living crisis. For us, this crisis is a double-edged sword: more people than ever need our help, yet with rising prices and tightening belts, the support we can offer is harder than ever to sustain.
With the seasons turning and winter looming, the strain deepens for those experiencing homelessness and mental health struggles. The demand for resources and essentials — hot meals, warm clothing, peer mentoring, and a safe space — multiplies rapidly. We are determined not to let these trials and tribulations limit our reach.
This is where you come in.
For 10 years, we have stood as ‘the light in the shadows,’ but every flame needs fuel to keep burning. We know this light does not belong to us alone. It belongs to every volunteer, donor, and friend who has fuelled our mission. Together, we believe we can make the next decade even brighter.
By donating, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, you can help us continue to be a lifeline for our community’s most vulnerable.

10 Years of Changing Lives:
What has changed?
2015 – Sutton Night Watch was founded, operating from a simple gazebo. With limited resources, our mission began with hot food, compassion, and determination.
2018 – We moved into the Sutton Seecombe Centre, expanding into a larger, but still limited space with washrooms and a small food-heating area. During this time, we were able to open three nights a week (6–9pm), but the restricted hours limited our ability to collaborate with local businesses and meet rising demand.
2019 – We relocated to our current home on Manor Road, finally giving us the room to grow into a true community hub.
2020 – Redevelopments were completed, and we prepared for our grand opening — just as the doors were ready to open, COVID-19 struck. Despite the setback, we adapted, stayed open, and did our best to continue to support those most in need through the crisis.

Testimonies:
“I was so low when I came to Sutton Night Watch for the first time. I didn’t know where else to turn to. I had lost my job and my home all within 10 weeks. I was made to feel so welcome and I felt so much better just talking and having help to sort things out. Things aren’t perfect but they are getting better”
“I was living in a car park and bin cupboard before I found SNW. My work stopped because of COVID, and I never got work back again at my age. I lost my accommodation with my work. After a year of help from SNW I am progressing from temporary accommodation to a one-bedroom flat. I’m so happy”
