Aim

To raise funds to help safeguard bats in our woodland

Damhouse is not only a historic landmark for our community – it’s also home to some very special residents: bats. These protected creatures have made their roosts in and around our grounds, but with ongoing conservation and maintenance work, we need to make sure they remain safe and undisturbed.

To do this properly, we need to fund professional ecology surveys and install bat boxes in safer nearby trees, creating secure habitats where the bats can thrive without risk of harm.

We are asking for your support to help us raise the funds needed to safeguard these wonderful animals. Every donation, big or small, will go directly towards:

  • Ecological surveys to identify roosts and ensure legal protection.
  • Purchasing and installing bat boxes as safe new homes.
  • Preserving the balance between Damhouse’s heritage and its natural environment.

By contributing, you’ll be helping protect local wildlife, support biodiversity, and keep Damhouse a safe place for both people and nature.

For example, we currently have a tree which is unfortunately diseased that needs removing, however bats have roosted in the tree and we need to ensure their safe relocation.

🦇 Please give what you can – together we can ensure the bats of Damhouse continue to flourish for generations to come.
