Oathall School - science and maths equipment

Please support us to equip our new maths and science classrooms with fantastic teaching and learning resources!

We did it!

On 23rd Jun 2018 we successfully raised £29,468 with 209 supporters in 35 days

Help us to inspire thousands of secondary school students to become future scientists, engineers and inventors.  We want to buy state of the art equipment for Oathall Community College’s new science and maths classrooms which are opening this September. So, we have not got long to raise our target of £25,000 by June 23rd. Our aim is to provide students with:

  • digital microscopes
  • anatomical models
  • specialist cameras
  • exciting maths learning software
  • digital screens
  • display posters

All these things will bring alive the worlds of science and maths for the 1000 students who attend Oathall currently and for many years to come too.

About UsOathall Community College is a mixed comprehensive secondary school situated on the boundaries of Haywards Heath and Lindfield in the heart of Mid Sussex. The school has 1000 students. We have been waiting a long time for funding to renovate our outdated looking science and maths block.

This is now happening! The capital funds pay for the building; new roof, windows, façade, heating and classroom layout. We have to take all the furniture, fixtures and fittings from the old building into the new one. Whilst these are all perfectly adequate and fit for purpose, the school staff, governors and parents have very high aspirations for our students.

We want to equip our super new building with equipment that will inspire a love and passion for science and mathematics that will allow our students to become the future inventors, scientists, engineers and medical professionals in the world.

This is not about test tubes, heat mats and calculators; this is about having ambitious technology and equipment such as digital microscopes and specialist cameras, anatomical models, display posters, digital screens and signage to bring the building to life.

These are not the normal items you find in a school science or maths classroom. We believe our staff and children deserve the opportunity to learn using up to date teaching technology and hope that with the help of the whole community we can achieve this.
