Museum Charity Shop

Aim

Help GRC&W Museum to raise £1,000 to start a small high-street charity shop to raise vital funds for the Museum/Charity.

The Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Museum, registered Charity (CIO) number 1191551 would like to raise £1,000 to set up and establish a high-street charity shop to help raise vital funds for the museum charity, its aims and various projects. 

The £1,000 will be used for the following:

1. Bond: £225

2. 2 months rent at £225 per month (Total: £450)

3. Shop fittings: £325

Grand Total: £1,000

The shop will consist of 90% second hand donated goods, 5% Museum branded merchandise and 5% office (memberships, publicity materials, etc.), this will provide the Museum/Charity with a presence on the high-street allowing visitors and enquiries to be taken directly face-to-face as well as by email and other methods as well as vital funds to be raised by the sale of primarily second hand donated items such as DVD's, Books, Magazines, Model Rail, Railwayana, collectibles and other items that have been donated to the Museum/Charity by members of the public. 

The funds raised through the Charity Shop will go towards furthering the Museum's aims, objectives and projects which currently include the following: 

1. LMS Ventilated Goods Van 187085 - Restoration

2. Hudswell Clarke D1012 "Cadbury No.14" - Transport and Restoration

3. Portacabin Refurbishment 

4. 1875 Wheelset Transport
