Aim
In light of COVID-19, we are adapting to 'the new normal' and opening our very own café, bar & event space in Canton.
Who are we?
We are Motel Nights established event organisers based in Cardiff and we stand by the ethos 'work hard, play hard'. As we all know the events industry has been hit hard due to COVID-19 pandemic and as a result, we have to adapt to survive so we're putting in the 'hard work' now so we can 'play hard' later!
We're a small team here at Motel Nights HQ but have actually been around for longer than you might think. If you are local to Cardiff you might’ve been to Disco Motel, our flagship brand hosting events all over the city such as the legendary Clwb Ifor Bach, 10 Feet Tall & Gwdihw (RIP), as well as our EPIC, sold-out NYE events at Tramshed. Or perhaps you've attended one of our 'Great Big' themed quizzes at Depot, our award-winning comedy club at Buffalo (also RIP) or our silent discos at the museum and Techniquest.
Well, our biggest and most elaborate venture to date is happening RIGHT NOW! We've got the keys and have already started the renovations. Now we're asking for your help! The plan is to open our doors on 25th September, so no time to waste!
What do we want?
We are looking to raise £5,000 to help push us over the tipping point and help us build the café bar of your dreams. An environment for great coffee, great food, and an atmosphere unseen in Cardiff yet!
Just a stone's throw away from Victoria Park in Canton we're building a brand new café, bar & event space in a unique location with bags of character.
Centred around a strong community vibe, during the day our space will lend itself to co-working through monthly and daily memberships as well as an open plan coffee shop open to the public serving food and drink. When the sun goes down the motel will come alive under a seductive glow of neon playing host a variety of in house events as well as a fully private bookable venue. With a sheltered outdoor space and streetfood served till late the motel will be the perfect place to host your long-overdue birthday party and private functions. We value good times first and foremost, and our space will be centred around that.
What are we using the money for?
All the money raised will go into buying the equipment needed to make this vision a reality. The next 5 weeks will be an extremely busy and hands-on experience for us as all of the features of your new dream café & bar will be lovingly handcrafted by us. Everything from the private co-working booths, reception bar and disco ball bathroom to name a few. The space is currently completely empty - just a door, four walls and a ton of potential.
