The effects of the pandemic on our mental heath inspired me to create a music project to raise funds for Mental Health UK.

New stretch target

Everything raised will go to Mental Health UK.

News of the Covid19 vaccination arrival has lifted everyone's spirits following nine months of loss, fear and uncertainty but the pandemic has left a lot more in its wake.

The effect on peoples' mental health during these unimaginable times – whether suffering the loss of a loved one, facing a financial burden or suffering from separation for loved ones – is everywhere to be seen.

The effects may be slight or severe. For some they may not realise they are suffering and for others every day is a new and more difficult challenge.

Personally, my wife and my son kept me going but this project has been my creative lifeboat since April of this horrendous year.

Starting in April, Superhero 2020 involved some 70 or so people, contributing their time to a song I wrote 15 years ago, which I've re-recorded and released today. In 2005 a choir of 30 people joined me to create the chorus – in 2020 a whopping 65 people took part in the choir, submitting video clips from their homes!

A few months later the very talented and kind-hearted Simon Pollitt-Khan assembled, mixed and produced the song in his studio in London, from a huge list of parts I recorded at home and collected from the choir participants. A short time later the song took a final journey to none other than Abbey Road studios for final mastering.

Over the months, while all of this was going on, myself and super-talented and kind-hearted Hamish Campbell were shooting footage for a video.

Now complete, the song is online on all major stores including iTunes and Amazon Music and the video is ready and waiting at

Please watch the video here (or at and DONATE to Mental Health UK through this page. Please also ditch the streaming approach and go old-school and DOWNLOAD the song as all proceeds will also go to Mental Health UK.

By sharing this project as far and wide as possible we can increase the possibility of making a really SUPER impact.

I hope you can help out!
