We aim to raise funds to enable The Shark Trust to develop a new citizen science app that will let the public contribute to shark science.
Science is at the heart of shark conservation and this project relies on you!
About us
Our friends at The Shark Trust need £2000 to develop a new app that will allow anyone, anywhere in the world to contribute to shark science. Here at Cornwall College, a group of students has come together this Christmas to get this gift for The Shark Trust and help secure the future of sharks and our oceans.
Why?
Reaching our goal of £2000 by the end of the year will allow the shark trust to launch the new app ready for The Great Easter Eggcase Hunt!
Sharks play an essential role in the world's oceans, helping to maintain the delicate balance of ecosystems. Without these amazing creatures, our wonderful oceans would suffer immeasurably. The Great Eggcase Hunt is a citizen science project which allows anyone who finds a shark or ray eggcase (also known as a mermaid's purse) to contribute to The Shark Trust data. A short walk on the beach could lead to a jaw-dropping discovery helping us further the understanding of the astonishing populations and diversity of sharks we have right here on our doorstep.
