The aim is to raise money to enable us to buy LEGO set/s which we will then use to live build in one of Mind's charity shops on St James Street, Brighton.
We will be doing this for volunteers week (and we ourselves will look for volunteers to help build the LEGO sets). So we will be using the money raised to buy the biggest LEGO set we can, i.e. the one most impressive being build in the shop window. We will start the build on 1st June, and will carry on until we finished. After it has been build and displayed, the Mind Charity Shop will be raffling / auctioning off the set to raise money for the charity.
Depending on how much is raised, will depend on what or how many sets we will get. I have a few ideas of which sets would look good, but always open for people's ideas
Everyone who donates will be thanked on our website, and through our social media channels.
The reason for the connection between Brighton Bricks and Mind, is because I am a big believer that LEGO, the little plastic brick is a great mindfulness activity, and really helps me with my mental health issues
Brighton Bricks is an adult fan of LEGO group in Brighton and Hove, we have regular social events, as well as putting on shows. We have done a collection for Brighton charity RISE, as well as last Christmas we did a hidden LEGO mini figure competition in the North Laine's area of Brighton, encouraging people to shop local.
You can find us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and we have a website http://brightonbricks.com
This event is not an official event of the LEGO group, and is run between Brighton Bricks, and the Mind Charity Store on St James Street, Brighton
