Aim

Light us up is a project that aims to remedy some of our floodlighting issues, the funding for which has been impacted by the shutdown.

In the ten years that our Club has been under its current ownership there have been many twists and turns both on and off the pitch.

Having traded this historic Club back from the brink of extinction and through a creditors voluntary arrangement the owners have built a sustainable club structure and infrastructure. The Covid-19 cessation of all activities has had a dramatic effect on ourselves as well as many other non-league Clubs.

One of our volunteer coaches very kindly set up a giving page to assist with repair costs that were created because of our 2 post lockdown break-ins where essential pitch maintenance equipment was either stolen or was irreparably damaged. For those who donated we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

The longer we await sight of what the ‘New Normal’ will look like our forecasts suggest that a lack of income during this time of closedown will mean that budgets are impacted.

The nature of our lease dictates that we as a Club are responsible for everything on or under the site and as such as well as funding a playing budget the site costs are also considerable.

The disrupted season and a summer of lost revenue means that once again we seek support from our community to provide our football management team with a budget healthy enough to compete and a stadium that remains fit for purpose for the longer term.

A project that requires our immediate attention is our floodlighting, with testing due this year we need to undertake some remedial works to ensure that they pass testing.

As an FA Charter Standard Club we are proud to say we remain a hub for Youth Football, Senior Football both Men and Ladies and Walking Football Teams as well as providing a venue for private and community events, this is no more evident than at present as we continue to host a Covid-19 testing centre each week.

We are well placed to survive this shutdown period and the promises we have made to our members remains relevant in that we will open our doors as soon as we are given the permission to do so. We will deliver on this promise and will bring our beloved club back to life once again and with your assistance and additional support at this time will together achieve major victories.
