West Lothian Cycle Circuit: Lets get more people active
Linlithgow Community Development Trust is a charity leading a project to build a 1km traffic-free tarmac cycle circuit in Scotland's Central Belt

Our mission is to get more people on bikes more often, improving people’s mental and physical health, and creating a community where cycling is part of everyday life for everyone.
We have already got planning permission for a 1 km circuit in Linlithgow and we have raised over half a million pounds.
Why are we crowdfunding
Our campaign is raising money to pay for the circuit's floodlights. They're an essential part of our planning that will allow folk to use the circuit all year round, in the evening or before work (or school!).
But did you know one light costs £1,185? We need 27 for the perimeter of phase 1, so our £30k target will be a massive boost, with your help.
Who is it for? Everyone!
The circuit will be a safe space for kids learning to ride, families and adults who are returning to cycling, people with disabilities riding hand cycles or adaptive bikes and competitive athletes who want to train and develop skills away from traffic.
The circuit will be the perfect space for clubs and schools to use for coaching and to run events
Not just for cyclists
Runners, joggers, cyclists and triathletes will all have access at open drop in sessions and organised weekly activities, the circuit is for everyone in the community.
It will be a multi discipline facility at the Linlithgow Leisure Centre providing a safe space for road cycling, cycle-cross, triathlon, beginner track cycling, running, jogging, nordic skiing and inline skating. There is a swimming pool on site so triathletes are also catered for too.
Easy access
The Sustrans route 754 run's along side the proposed route so traffic free access will be simple by bike or foot.
Linlithgow is accessible by train and the M9, just 40 minutes from Glasgow and 30 minutes from Edinburgh
This is the final phase of the West Lothian Cycle Circuit fundraising campaign. What we need to do is build it! So let’s build it!
