I am raising money to purchase a second hand plywood ocean rowing boat to become the first person to row across the Black Sea.
In June of 2015 I will set off on a world first expedition to Mount Elbrus in Russia. To get there from the Uk I will first SOLO cycle 1800 miles to the Black Sea. From here I will jump in my boat and SOLO row the 750 miles across The Black Sea from Bulgaria to Georgia. From there it's back on my bike again to cycle across the border into Russia and climb Europe's highest mountain; Mount Elbrus. Why do all of this? Three great charities, that's why. The MS Society, the Firefighters Charity and Facing Africa which battles the shocking effects of a disease known as NOMA.
I will be the first person to EVER row across the Black Sea and when combined with the other two disciplines it amounts to a huge physical and mental challenge. As a professional firefighter and an all round outdoors enthusiast I am well versed in challenges, but this one will push me to my limits.
With your help I hope to raise enough to purchase a second hand plywood ocean rowing boat to complete the challenge in. With approximately 25 days at sea on my own it will be key to my survival! When the expedition is over the boat will be sold and the proceeds will also go towards the charities.
