We have launched an appeal for support with medical costs for a special dog called Jock who is in need of complex neck surgery
Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home have launched an appeal for support with medical costs for special dog in need of complex neck surgery.
Jock, a three-year-old Jack Russell/Collie cross, was surrendered to the Home on Halloween, when his owners could no longer cope with his care. The team quickly discovered a large mass on his neck, which raised significant concerns for his welfare.
Following a veterinary consultation, Jock was diagnosed with Sialocele, a mass caused by a damaged gland, which would have resulted from a trauma or infection. His operation requires complex specialist surgery that will cost around £4,500, which includes significant aftercare.
Any additional funds raised as part of the crowdfunding appeal will go towards the many cats and dogs in Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home’s care.
