It is with regret that I have withdrawn from the leadership contest as it has become clear that I will not be the candidate that is able to draw support from across our movement - unions, the membership and elected representatives – and unite the party.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to the campaign and allowed us to come this far. It would have been impossible to run the campaign without you and I’m very sad that we could not progress further in the leadership race.
Our campaign was always the underdog, but we have achieved an awful lot in a short space of time, reaching millions of people and inspiring many who had given up on Labour to rejoin or join for the first time. Those people will now have a say in the upcoming leadership vote.
This is vitally important if the party is to once again look outward to the country and rebuild the trust it will need to win in future, so that we can put our principles into practise
The Jess Phillips Campaign will process all donations in compliance with the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (PPERA). You can find further information here www.jessphillips.net/donations-policy
