Thank you for visiting our Crowdfunder! A donation of just £5 is enough to produce and distribute one face-shield for a frontline health/social care worker in need.

WHO ARE WE?

We are a self-organised group of Devon-based volunteers, creatives and technologists working together to make and distribute Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) face-shields in response to an unprecedented increase in demand since the outbreak of COVID-19 in the UK.

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

Working with suppliers, manufacturers and a team of volunteers, we’re acquiring materials to assemble both reusable and disposable face-shields which, as far as possible, meet the relevant standards for health and safety. We’re involving the clinical teams from larger organisations we’re working with, and have volunteers from the health and care sectors guiding us to ensure we are responding in the right way. Face-shields will then be distributed to frontline health and social careworkers in our local communities; those that are most in need, right now, in Devon and Somerset.

WHY ARE WE DOING IT?

Care-workers on the frontline, looking after patients with COVID-19, are themselves most at risk of contracting the virus.

Frontline staff at GP surgeries, nursing homes, home carers, and charities providing vital services within our communities, are being left desperately short of vital supplies of PPE. This is because, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is now an ever-increasing demand from both from the NHS and from people who would not normally need to use PPE.  As a result, many thousands of vulnerable workers, volunteers, care home residents and social care staff are at risk of falling ill, as the virus spreads.

Face-shields provide vital protection for those care-workers, reducing the risk of contamination and minimising further spread of the virus.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

We DO need your help.

As a not-for-profit voluntary group, we need to raise funds in order to source materials and equipment, to produce vital PPE for the frontline workers within our communities.

You can help us in a number of ways:

This Crowdfunder: You can support and promote our Crowdfunder. Each donation of just £5 is enough to produce and distribute one face-shield.

Equipment: Do you have a 3D printer or laser-cutter? We desperately need additional printing and cutting capacity to keep up with increasing demand for PPE.

Materials: Do you have stock supplies of foam & plastic suitable for the manufacture of face-shields?

Shout about us: Please help us spread the word about this campaign on social media!

Please note: Currently, we’re are not seeking any further volunteers. However, we may do soon. Please do leave your details on our website if you would like to help.

We ask project owners to honour their rewards wherever possible but please note that all pledges are donations and there is no guarantee that you will receive any rewards from the project owner. Please see Crowdfunder's Terms of Use for more information regarding rewards for pledges.
