New stretch target

With the extra funding we would be able to:

1. Purchase a dishwasher, two commercial mixers and enough seating for 26 covers.

2. Employ a bigger team - we will be prioritising those who have lost their jobs as a result of Covid-19.

3. We will be able to offer extra training to all our staff and help them build their skills for future opportunities.

4. Sign up with Deliveroo to provide a delivery service to our customers in the area

5. Update our e-commerce website to create a seamless customer experience.

HEY SUGAR! We need your help...

After 4 years of hard work and establishing our brand and expanding into a new site, the unexpected has most definitely happened.. the next few months are going to be make or break.

During the global pandemic, we were able to adapt our business model to accommodate online orders, however he online business simply isn’t sustainable and working from our South London kitchen is putting our very existence under threat.

We are doing everything we can to keep our business afloat, and we really need your support to get out of the current predicament and get the dream back on the road!

In return for any much appreciated investment, we will be offering a variety of vouchers, products and services that can be redeemed either online, or in our new East London store - along with some exclusive offers and discounts. On top of this, we will be able to work with local charities, donating food to the homeless and vulnerable communities in London.

Our big plans to move into our first site, has been delayed until we receive more funding to progress and complete the project. Once we get back on our feet we will use the new Bakehouse kitchen to offer you our signature bakes, try new ideas, create new cakes and treats and offer coffee and speciality drinks in an exciting, inviting, enjoyable space for both sit in and take-away. Please read more of our story below.

These vouchers will be sent to everyone that has selected a reward option during the campaign, you will receive one before you receive your goods. Alternatively choose to send to someone as a gift voucher - see rewards section.

Sweet Nothing Bakehouse was established in 2015 by me - Beth Cardy. We started work from my London flat, baking for family and friends and some local customers. That was when I decided to quit my corporate job, and go back to school, to study Patisserie and Confectionary. I got a contract with Swingers London, providing their guests with cakes and desserts, as well as working for a number of Bakeries in and around London, gaining valuable industry experience.

In 2016 I found an old horse box trailer, lovingly converted it and set off to sell cakes, coffee and treats to the public.

In 2018, we were able to expand the business, welcoming our second mobile unit to the company - in the form of a 60's caravan!

Meet the Dream Team! The original SN girls, Roxanne and Reyola who have worked with me to evolve the brand and keep it alive since the beginning.

After a long, and at times difficult journey trying to find the right location for our first permanent Bakehouse, we were introduced to Republic in East London (highlighted in yellow on the map below).

Republic is based in Poplar next to East India DLR station and is home to some great independent businesses, as well as substantial office and co-working spaces, also making it our new home. It is well connected to the Jubilee line, DLR, Cross Rail, several buses and the cycle super-highway. It is just a stones throw from Canary wharf and a 13 minute train ride to Bank, or Stratford stations.

Our menu will offer a range of cakes, pastries, desserts, sandwiches, speciality drinks and vegan soft serve. To enjoy in house or boxed to go, as well as an in-house bespoke cake service.

We use only sustainable packaging, so that means all our food and drink containers are made from natural and recycled materials that are fully recyclable or biodegradable. We also mainly use suppliers that provide us with eco-friendly packaging.

Any left over cakes will be donated to homeless charities and food banks as mentioned above. Waste such as used coffee grounds will be recycled with certified companies to avoid unnecessary food products going into landfill.

We have lots of exciting and exclusive offers & items to reward you with, and to thank everyone who has been kind enough to pledge and help turn our dream into a reality.

From monthly discounts, to delicious treats, redeemable both online and in-store - there's no need to panic if you live far away from the Bakery, and if you want an alternative gift to send to someone, Christmas is just around the corner and there's something for everyone!

Please note: for multiple pledges please add total amount to the donate box at the top. Once payment has been made you'll have the option to leave a comment - list all items you wish to pledge for.

Once the campaign has finished (30th Nov) I'll be in touch to confirm all delivery addresses and personal notes for any rewards going as gifts. All rewards will be neatly packed with shredded and branded paper and come complete with signature SNB branding.

With your support, we will be able to continue on our journey, move onto the next chapter and beyond and (hopefully) conquer the world one cake at a time!!

Things you can do that would help:

  • Donate in return for rewards
  • Share our campaign on social media
  • Book an event with us in the near future

We hope to see you in the Bakehouse very soon!
