Help us restore the Vortex Steinway, allowing us to maintain an instrument worthy of the top quality music that can be heard here regularly!

by vortexjazz in Dalston, England, United Kingdom

Help us maintain the Vortex's reputation as one of the top jazz clubs on the UK scene by contributing to the restoration and servicing of our Steinway B Grand Piano!

The Vortex grand piano arrived at the club in 2005, and was played on its debut by the late great John Taylor. Since then it has been enjoyed by hundreds of top pianists on the Vortex stage, including the British pianist and composer Stan Tracey.

As with all such things, the piano needs some expert TLC. We are having significant work done on it during our summer recess and need your help to fund it.

Restoration work on the voicing, dampers and touch, and the replacement of the bass strings, will ensure the Vortex can keep swinging into the Autumn and beyond.

Help us rejuvenate this fantastic instrument so that the Vortex has the BEST piano in any jazz club - one worthy of the quality of the music that can be heard here regularly.
