Aim
We're looking for support to close our salon for longer this Christmas, to keep our team and clients safe from the latest surge in COVID-19
In order to keep our team and clients safe from the surge in COVID-19 through the Omicron variant, we have decided to close our salon doors earlier than expected and for longer than planned over the winter holidays 2021. While there is financial pressure on businesses to stay open, the risks that poses to staff, clients and the overburdened NHS is increasing daily and we feel that closing now is the right and ethical thing to do.
We wish to ensure that any of our freelance team who were due to work over this period can still be paid, despite our unexpected closure, and funds raised here will be redistributed to them.
Any additional donations received will boost Open Barbers' ability to continue supporting our team during this bitter winter period and will help subsidise the costs of keeping our salon as safe as possible.
Open Barbers is a non-profit social enterprise, offering affordable and accessible hair services for people of all genders and sexualities. Our amazing team of freelance stylists offer affirming cuts and colour services and work very hard to meet the needs of our various communities and client base.
