Let's face it, it's a tough job being an MP and, with a basic salary of just £79,468, is it any wonder that they need to rely on expenses to cover their costs of living?
According to Wikipedia, Bryant claimed over £92,000 in expenses over the five years leading up to the 2009 scandal over MPs' expenses. During that time he flipped his second-home expenses twice, claimed mortgage interest expenses that started at £7,800 per year before rising (after flipping) to £12,000 per year. He also claimed £6,400 in stamp duty and other fees on his most recent purchase, and £6,000 per year in service charges.
Now, Chris wants help for MPs to pay for their childcare costs incurred on Saturday 19 October 2019, and he's asked the parliamentary authorities to consider making a contribution.
Will you show Chris what you think, by making a donation to our Crowdfunder?
We guarantee that not a penny of the money you donate will go to Chris, who we think has got more than enough dosh to pay for his own childcare, thank you very much.
Instead, we're raising money for KIND, a charity helping children living in some of the poorest, most deprived areas in the UK who find themselves living in poverty and facing disadvantage on a daily basis. KIND are about to launch their Christmas Appeal and this donation will kick-start it!
