Tuffley Rovers AFC were established in 1929, with the aim of providing the opportunity for people from the local community to play for their local club.
92 years later, we continue to have the same aims and objectives, but we have grown to one of the largest adult clubs in Gloucestershire and have close links to a youth section who also play under the Tuffley Rovers' banner.
Since the 1980s we have played much of our senior football at Glevum Park and our first team have regularly played at Step 5 of the football pyramid, recovering well from financial difficulties experienced in 2005 and the relegation to local football that followed, to return up the pyramid, via four promotions to take us back to that level.
Whilst we are now in a much healthier position financially, our pitch is not looking in quite such good condition and for months on end, even when there has been no football, our failing drainage has meant that the pitch is not fit for play once the winter weather arrives.
We have been fortunate enough to obtain financial support from the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF) that will enable us to completely replace and upgrade the drainage this summer, but we still face a bill in the region of £40,000 if we are to make the Glevum Park pitch future-proof and a surface that we can all be proud of. To that end, we need your help!
Whilst we know times are tight for many, we would welcome any donations that help us in further reducing the costs of the new drainage to the club. As someone once said, Every Little Helps!
We are offering a, "Sponsor the turf" where each sq meter can be sponsored at £5 per m² and a board will be constructed at Glevum Park, with the name of all the donors that have supported our club in this project.
