Introduction

The purpose of the Save Our Grassroots Match-Saving Match Fund is to support grassroots sports clubs in protecting the community spaces they love. We match the funds raised by local clubs, schools, and community groups pound for pound, supporting projects that tackle flooding, waterlogging, and extreme weather damage using natural methods like planting, drainage improvements, and surface work. Clubs also get access to 100,000 trees and support from local Wildlife Trusts to help deliver nature-based solutions on their doorstep.

The funding partner is Rewriting Earth.

Fund size is £100,000.

Example projects include those which:

Match Funding Criteria

Following approval for funding, if you wish to make any changes to your campaign target, or any significant changes to your rewards or other page content you must notify us.

To secure a pledge from the Fund, you will need to do the following:

1. Apply to, and be approved for, the Fund.

2. Receive the Fund pledge by reaching at least 100% of your fundraising target.

If the project fails to reach 100% of the target the provisional pledge will be cancelled.

If your application is approved, the Fund will match donations to your campaign while it is live.

Match funding is:

£1 for every £1 raised

Placeholder text

Up to £10,000 per project

Placeholder text

Up to 50% of your crowdfunding target

The amount of match funding available depends on your campaign target, so not all projects will receive the full £10,000.

The Funding Partner reserves the right to vary these match funding criteria; projects will be notified if their match funding criteria will vary from the stated terms above.

Additional Requirements

Project Owners or the campaigning organisation pledging to their own campaign is allowed, however this should not be a significant amount unless discussed before the pledge is added. Small offline donations that have been collected may also be added, however you may be required to evidence the origin of these pledges (receipts, letters of support, copies of cheques or bank statements etc.)

Projects will be required to agree to the Terms and Conditions.
