We did a trial run of raising free range chicken in 2019 with great success.
We now want to establish facilities on farm so that we can bring you free range chicken from our farm gate to your dinner plate.
Our aim is to produce an ethically and sustainable raised chicken with low food miles that is farmed in an environmentally and welfare friendly habitat.
To be able to do this we need a little help to get the project up and running.
We need to invest in various different kinds of equipment from ground level all the way through.
To get this project off the ground, we need to get in place suitable a suitable brooder unit for when the chicks are only little until they are fully feathered and able to explore the great outdoors.
Once they are at that stage we will need suitable some housing/enclosures for the chicken so they can roam safely on the farm and are protected from any natural predators.
Once the chickens reach 10 to 12 weeks old (which will mean they have lived twice as long as a commercial mass produced chicken) we will need facilities and equipment on farm that can allow us to process them in a humane manner.
We really hope that you want to be a part of this journey of getting the project off the ground and help us to bring you some of the finest locally produced free range chickens around.
