To raise the last bit of money to take our production on tour.
Who Are We?
We are Prism Arts Studio Theatre which is an integrated company where adults with learning disabilities and professional artists work in partnership. We are based in Carlisle, Cumbria.
We create a new production in its entirety each year. We research, create the storyboards, develop the characters, design and create the set and costumes, create the music as well as touring the productions.
Why We Are Crowdfunding
We are currently working on a theatre production called Four Treasures.
The production will take you on a journey through a magical world made up of four stories; faith, trust, honesty and truth. It is an entrancing performance using live action, puppetry and live music.
We need your pledges to pay for this production to tour to Carlisle Old Fire Station and Theatre by the Lake in Keswick, Cumbria.
Where the money will go
Your pledges will pay for;
· Transport – for a van to transport set and to pay for travel for our staff and volunteers.
· To enable professional musician Mark Newport to tour with the company.
· Staff to run 4 workshops with schools in Keswick, working with them to develop their drama skills and teach them about shadow puppetry.
We have already been kindly offered a mini bus from Reays Coaches to transport our actors.
Our previous tours
We have a track record of producing high quality shows which have toured around theatres in Cumbria and received wonderful feedback.
Last year, we toured Shadow Tales, a production with took the audience to India. Below is a short trailer we created for the show.

We toured Tales of a Long Conflict, a production about the battle of the Somme. Below is a short film we made of the production.

We are excited to be sharing this journey with you!

A bit more about Prism Arts
For over 30 years, Prism Arts has been creating and delivering arts projects which are accessible to everyone.
We are passionate about ensuring the arts are available to everyone by removing barriers which prevent or discourage people with learning needs or health issues from engaging in creative practices. We work with people with additional learning needs, older people and younger people creating visual arts and theatre productions.
Our visual art is showcased in exhibitions in galleries and public spaces and our productions are performed in theatres, schools and community spaces.
We aim to engage audiences of all ages and backgrounds and endeavour to change perceptions of work created by these often excluded groups.
Our office is in Carlisle but we work throughout Cumbria. We run 4 weekly art programmes in Carlisle and 1 on the west coast. We also run arts projects with organisations such as Cumbria Wildlife Trust, Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery, Cumbria Museum of Military Life, as well as many schools throughout the county.
All of our projects are run by professional artists who work in partnership with the participants, facilitating them in all aspects of the creative process from research, to creating, to exhibiting or performing.
