Fighting controversial & toxic development of Brighton gasworks site, Health risks will be irreversible.We are mounting a legal challenge!
Hi all
I will be walking from Brighton to Eastbourne along the South Downs on Saturday 20th March (a very challenging route and is a long long way!) the walk will take about 9 hours of constant walking.
Background behind this is that Me and Keeley are genuinely worried for the health of our family and local residents if the local gasworks site development in Brighton goes ahead. There is scientific proof that dangerous chemicals and toxins lie underground at this site and will be disturbed during the work. This site has been left alone for years so far for a good reason!
The developers are currently proposing high rises ( obviously to make as much money as possible ) the deep digging to lay foundations is where the health risk lie. We would back something which did not disturb the foundations as much as provided genuine affordable housing. (there have been no commitments to this!)
This development has made the ITV news headlines and papers Keeley (my fiancé has been heavily involved due to her expertise and background.
These controversial developers also have previous when it comes to developing gas sites, a short film has been made by local residents in London who have been complaining for years due to ill health as a result of this.
I do not want my little boy growing up around this development! We would likely have to move out of our home.
There are various fundraising activities going on to raise funds, this is my bit!
