Aim
To feed people resisting state terror in Cali, Colombia
We are Crowdfunding to send money to our comrades of CAISA Maloka to collect and transport food from the centre's farm and other local farmers to take to the people of Cali who are uprising against Colombian state terrorism. People have been in active rebellion since the 28th April 2021, they need food on the ground, food is scarce in the City. Every day we are receiving reports of young people being killed, kidnapped, beaten, being censored and even taken from their homes for uprising! This all started when a controversial tax reform was passed by the government directly affecting poor people who have already been impoverished by the pandemic. The government had to back up and take down the new reform, but people have been ignited and they will not stop until there is real justice! 70% of Colombians earn less than the minimum wage, roughly £180 per month. People have had enough and they have declared a permanent national strike across Colombia, Cali and Bogota being the epicentres of the struggle and being the worst hit. We urge you to look online to further inform yourselves of the situation as mainstream media is as usual, not reporting this. Please support this urgent cause.
