Amelia Womack, Green Party Deputy Leader, needs your support in what has the potential to be one of the most interesting by-elections in recent history.
Following the sad loss of our inspirational MP Paul Flynn, there is an opportunity for Newport to elect another radical free-thinking MP with the passion and vision that the city deserves.
Our politics is on the verge of major change. This by-election is scheduled for the 4th April - just days after Brexit may take place after two years of chaos in Westminster. This is an opportunity to send a clear message that bold action is needed when we have just 12 years to avoid climate catastrophe. Newport needs an end to austerity and investment in health, social care and housing.
We have so much potential, but what we need is support. Unlike other parties, we aren’t funded by big business meaning the Green Party doesn't have a lot of money to spend on getting its message out.
Gwent Green Party is campaigning on behalf of Amelia to become the Green Party’s second MP where she grew up in Newport West.
We need your help to raise £1,500 and to deliver leaflets to every home in the constituency. Every penny that we raise makes a difference. For example:
+ £20 could pay for 500 'Vote Green' window posters
+ £50 could pay for 2,500 'Pledge Cards' telling voters about our key policies
+ £100 could pay for 1,000 full colour election leaflets
Help us help Amelia make every single Green vote count!
Please share your support on Facebook and Twitter and encourage your family and friends to add their support.
You can volunteer too - email firstname.lastname@example.org if you want more information on the campaign.
