Help us get more Greens elected in East Surrey next May
We are raising funds to help re-elect our three Green Councillors, in Redhill and Earlswood, and increase the size of the Green team on Reigate and Banstead Borough Council next May.
Jonathan Essex was the first Green Councillor elected in Redhill, back in 2010. In 2013 he was also elected on to Surrey County Council.
Since then, other Greens have joined the team and we currently have three Green Councillors. Together they are working on a wide range of local issues, from waste and recycling to defending the Green Belt, potholes, cycling and community facilities.
Next May, all the seats on Reigate and Banstead Council are up for election, following boundary changes. Local Greens will be fighting hard to keep councillors Jonathan Essex, Steve McKenna and Hal Brown – and to elect more Greens to join them.
Why we need your help
We have some great candidates but elections are expensive.
Unlike the other main parties, the Greens are not backed by corporate donors and multimillionaires. We rely on people like you.
We are looking to raise £1,500 to pay for leaflets, posters and letters - to reach voters and tell them about how we can change politics for the better.
As Green Councillor Steve McKenna says, “When I’m talking to people on the doorstep in Redhill East, the more people hear about Green policies, the more they like them.”
Anything you can pledge today will make a real difference.
Other ways you can help
If you aren’t able to contribute financially, you can still help OUR campaign by telling your friends, helping to deliver leaflets, sharing our posts on social media or displaying a poster at election time. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to offer help.

Some Important Information
The Electoral Commission requires that anyone who donates £50 or more to a political party must be registered to vote. If you aren't currently registered, you can register at https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. The Electoral Commission also requires us to log the full names and address of these donors. Please rest assured, your details will not be used for any other purposes, but must be handed over to the Commission upon request.
