In memory of Dan Sutton, West Bridgford RFC would like to create a covered area with seating for members of the club and the other community organisations (West Bridgfordians Cricket Club, exercise classes and other community groups who use our facility). Dan spent much of his time watching his beloved rugby from the front of the clubhouse and always mentioned that the current area needed upgrading to complement the new clubhouse.
Dan was a man who dedicated his life to teaching and sport. He played a key role in the development of rugby at West Bridgford Rugby Club and within the constituent body, Notts, Lincs & Derbys RU; especially the implementation of junior rugby, alongside many other voluntary roles in both cricket and rugby.
He has left a lasting impression on so many lives and will be sorely missed by all, therefore this new project will be a fitting tribute in memory of Dan for many years to come.
The Project - We do not currently have enough usable space in the clubhouse for the club and other community organisations that use our facility due to the Covid 19 restrictions which will be around for the foreseeable future. This will enable us to offer external seating for our community, supporters as well as covered viewing and expanded catering facilities space.
The estimated total project cost is £20,000. We are asking our community to come together to raise at least £10,000. If you wish to do your own connected fundraising there is a link under the "Start fundraising" section. Any donations here will be added to the total. We are hopeful that Sport England will match our total with up to £10,000. The Covid-19 pandemic could affect millions of people in the next few months, so having this external area will allow us to further open the club to other areas of the wider community sooner. This allows the club to return to a more normal operating model and generate the income needed to sustain the club into the future.

Senior Mens Section
Over the last few seasons, West Bridgford RFC has become one of the "go to clubs" in the region. We are now the only team within Nottinghamshire competing in RFU Midlands 1 and after finishing 4th last season, we now have a desire to push for promotion to the Midlands Premier league.
In normal time training is on Tuesday & Thursday evenings with matches taking place on Saturday afternoons and occasionally on a Friday night. Further info - Senior Mens Teams
All teams - All club teams
The significant growth in mini, junior, girls, ladies and mens numbers in recent seasons has been fuelled by an environment of inclusivity. The club is open to all age groups, playing standards and social groups. Financial barriers are minimised so that the club can incorporate all.
We are in urgent need of additional outdoor social space due to the growing membership of our club and the greater use of local community groups. With social distancing due to Covid 19 likely to be with us for many years to come, we feel that our Dan Sutton Memorial Terrace is a vital project to add to our facility.
