Its simple. Local volunteers take elderly residents from Care Homes out on cycle rides - and we need your help to make it happen.
Seems like such a simple idea? But why do we need your help?
We were fortunate to have some funding from the Climate Challenge Fund last year to purchase two of the bikes which has allowed us to establish the project in Falkirk. However, following our launch last month - we have been inundated with requests the length and breadth of Scotland and we now need your help to help this project grow further. Each Trishaw costs around £5000 and they are only made in Copenhagen, we hope through this Crowdfunding campaign we will be able to go someway to purchasing more bikes so this truly life affirming and transforming project can impact on more lives in Scotland.
I'm sure we all know or have visited someone in a Care Home, and to their credit many do a fantastic job in organising activities for their residents to enjoy a varied and supported life. But with Cycling Without Age, we can add a whole new dimension to the lives of elderly people and ensure that they are fully integrated in society, able to experience the great outdoors and simply interact with passers by and feel part of their local community again.
If you can give anything at all, or even share this crowdfunder, we would be hugely appreciative as every penny can and will make a difference.
