Aim

Our aim is to offer creative art classes and workshops on a 'Pay As You Feel' basis opening up the opportunity to learn new skills to all.

Who?

Wedge Community Arts is a small group created in the BD10 area of West Yorkshire (primarily in and around Thorpe Edge Estate in Idle) to offer a range of creative and creative arts projects to all ages. The importance of creative arts is crucial to everyone's development and well-being however these type of sessions and classes are not always accessible to everyone due to the price tag attached to them.

How?

As Wedge Community Arts is a group that rely's solely on funding and donations to operate, every penny raised goes towards the delivery of these sessions which includes; purchasing equipment, tutor fee's (where required), room hire and any incremental costs incurred in the running of the sessions.

Why?

All sessions are not just solely about having fun and meeting new people, they are also to ensure we are teaching the community transferable and new skills. Especially for our youth students, we aim to offer the opportunity to try new things to help work towards their future careers, exposing them to things they wouldn't have normally has exposure to.

Pay As You Feel

Our 'Pay As You Feel' payment for these classes is simple, we have boxes available at all our events and classes that attendee's put their money in, they pay what they can afford, and what they think the session or event is worth. By running our classes and events on a PAYF basis means that these sessions are accessible to everyone. Anyone who wants to attend can do so without the financial obligation or commitment to paying a set fee holding them back.

Our commitment

We are committed to providing classes to our community, a community that may not always be able to access these sessions elsewhere. Your donations, help and support are what achieve this and we thank you for helping us on our journey to opening the creative arts to all.
