COVID-19 Dental Challenge

The Dental Wellness Trust is supporting the elderly, care facilities and the vulnerable by donating essential supplies to those most in need

Our Mission 

We have seen the devastating impact that the coronavirus has been having on the elderly, care home facilities and the most vulnerable and we want to do our part to support them.

Many are completely isolated and cut off from regularly support and supplies of basic necessities.

People living with poor oral health, especially the elderly, are at an increased risk of many health complications and potentially more susceptible to the effects of any virus – including COVID-19. Therefore, it’s essential that those most in need have access to a toothbrush and toothpaste in order to keep their mouths clean and healthy and this is where we need your urgent support.

For the past few weeks, the Dental Wellness Trust charity has been donating thousands of free toothbrushes and toothpaste to care homes and hospices across London where people are self-isolating. Toothbrushes can be covered in all sorts of germs from your mouth such as bacteria and viruses which will remain on its surface – which is why toothbrushes need to be replaced regularly.

However, we only have a limited free stock of supplies which is why more toothbrushes and paste are desperately needed.

Our mission is to raise £10k which will allow us to buy an additional 10k extra toothpaste/brush kits – supplying the elderly, special care facilities and the most vulnerable. For every £1 donated, this will buy a toothbrush and toothpaste to help those in need maintain good oral health.

About Dental Wellness Trust

Founded in 2011 by leading London dentist Dr Linda Greenwall, The Dental Wellness Trust was established to address the increasing inequality surrounding oral health in both the UK and internationally. The Dental Wellness Trust aims to provide tailored oral health education programmes for children, the elderly and also to circulate good practice amongst oral health practitioners.

The charity and its many committed members work closely with the local community to raise awareness of the importance of oral health amongst families, teach how better to clean their teeth and to raise funds to support the oral health programmes these communities are in need of.
