We believe in the power of music to bring positive change into all our lives and we need your help to bring music back into our community.

New stretch target

With extra funding we will continue to deliver the most successful of our new online projects in order to provide free services to vulnerable people, especially those with disabilities and older people suffering with dementia. We know that new people have already discovered Coda during lockdown through our new Gramophone Time broadcasts and Beautiful Sounds online and we'd love to make these online activities a longstanding feature of our work in the future.

Coda aims to transform lives through music. We work with people from across Dorset and the New Forest; People from all backgrounds, of all abilities and all ages.

The Coronavirus pandemic has had a profound and dramatic impact on what we do and threatens the survival of our charity.

Our award winning work is based upon making music with our local community and the joy of bringing people together to be creative is at the essence of what we do.

At Coda we excel in the use of music as therapy, in learning, and for personal development. We love to play, to bring people together, engage and nurture enthusiasm and talent.

Music is undeniably a force for good. Whether in the listening, or in the playing; wherever in the world it is found, it has never been anything other than both pleasurable and beneficial. It uplifts the spirit and, created in company, will engender real comradeship.

During lockdown we have had to find new ways to reach people.

These are some of the things we have been doing since the pandemic hit:

The Kids Ukulele Band moved online and is as rowdy and fun as ever!

Gramophone Time is a series of YouTube programmes for older people. It uses music from the 1940s and 1950s to help older people in their homes and in care to reminisce and uses pictures and prompts to stir long lost memories.

1594112057_hh_choir.jpgOur Health and Happiness Choir practice their breathing and vocal exercises and have been singing their hearts out remotely. They all tell us they feel much healthier and happier to be back singing with friends, even from their own homes.

For many of the people we work with life won't return to how it used to be for many months. They remain vulnerable to the deadly virus due to disability, age or ill health.

Your donation to our Crowdfunder project will enable us to work with the most vulnerable members of our local community for as long as it takes, creating new means to reach people and supporting them until we can safely welcome them back to play with us in person.

Your support will also help us to re-build many of our other services and to find ways to work safely with everyone at Coda Music Centre.

Our target is to raise £5000 to continue our work and to innovate and create new ways to support those in need.

Every penny of your donations will help us to pay our amazing team of musicians to create new activities online and support us to prepare the Centre for people to return safely to Coda in the autumn.

If you can give anything, from a few pounds to a few thousand pounds please help us to help those in need.

We trust in music to help change lives.

Without music we are all lost.

Help us.
