New stretch target

The extra money raised will go toward the workshop costs and maintenance of the orchard for the next 4 years by professional Orchard Manager Martin Hayes, who will run workshops with our veterans teaching them new skills in orchard management.

The physical and mental health benefits of horticulture have been widely reported. Participants will gain confidence, knowledge and experience and some will go on to find work experience and employment within the industry. The aim of the charity is to provide support and a place on the programme to every veteran in the UK who wants to attend and/or is unable to access help through other channels. If one life is saved as a result of contact with the charity we will call it a success. Any amount of investment will be justified if we can prevent just one suicide, because we believe you cannot put a price on a life.1605865338_crowd2.jpg

Through the implementation of the orchard there are so many skills that will be learnt by our veterans; we will have planting workshops to start followed by maintenance and harvesting. 1605864699_crowd.jpg

Veterans' Growth already has a substantial site in this video you will see the work carried out and achieved by our veterans of the Tri Services, in a few months, with the covid restrictions in place. As a group we are ready to expand further and bring into production the orchard.
